1
Zing Health Medicare Advantage Plans

Zing Health sells Medicare Advantage plans, also called Medicare Part C. Medicare Advantage plans provide all of the same benefits as Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), and most Medicare Advantage plans offer additional benefits not covered by Original Medicare. Some of the extra benefits included in Zing Medicare Advantage plans may include:

  • Prescription drug coverage
  • Dental coverage
  • Vision coverage
  • Hearing coverage
  • Behavioral health care
  • Discounts on over-the-counter (OTC) drugstore items
  • Preferred diabetes supplies
  • Telehealth doctor visits
  • A 24/7 nurse hotline
  • Transportation to your doctor and pharmacy
  • Fitness and weight loss program memberships

Zing Health offers several distinct types of Medicare Advantage plans.

Zing Health HMO Medicare Advantage Plans

An HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) plan coordinates health care within a network of participating providers, typically through your Primary Care Physician. HMO’s are known to be low cost, and Zing HMO Medicare Advantage plans can come with a $0 premium.

Zing Health HMO-POS Medicare Advantage Plans

An HMO Point-Of-Service (POS) plan allows for some added flexibility, as members are not restricted to only the health care providers within the defined network. While the use of a primary care physician is not needed, referrals may be necessary for some out-of-network services. You typically pay lower out-of-pocket costs if you visit in-network doctors and providers.

Zing Health HMO-POS Medicare plans can also come with $0 premiums.

Zing Health HMO-CSNP Medicare Advantage Plans

A Chronic Condition Special Needs Plan (C-SNP) is designed to meet the specific health care needs of an individual with a particular condition. Zing Health offers these HMO-based plans for people with conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Like the company’s two other Medicare Advantage plans, Zing Health HMO-CSNP Medicare Advantage plans can feature $0 premiums.

Where Zing Health Medicare Plans are Sold

Zing Health sells Medicare Advantage plans in counties in Illinois, Michigan and Indiana. All 3 types of Zing Health Medicare plans are available in Illinois and Michigan. Depending on where you live in Indiana, the Zing Health HMO and HMO-CSNP plans might be the only plan options available where you live.

You may only enroll in a Zing Health Medicare plan if you live in the service area where the plan is available.

3
Zing Health Medicare Providers

Each Zing Health Medicare plan will come with its own list of participating providers. Members of the HMO plan will be restricted to providers from their plan network for most services, while members of the HMO-POS plan may be able to obtain care from additional providers in certain situations.

Depending on the type of plan you have and its restrictions, a Zing Health Medicare plan may be used outside of your typically network service area in some circumstances. You can always ask your doctor or provider if they’re part of your plan network before you receive any services from them.

To see the participating providers for a Zing Health plan in your area, you can search through the Zing Health Provider Directory to find a list of providers who accept the plan you’re interested in. You can also type in the name and zip code of your doctors and specialists into the Zing Health Provider List and select their specialty.

4
Zing Health Medicare Drug Formulary

Do you want to find out if your prescription drugs are covered by a Zing Health Medicare Plan?

You can use the Zing Health Comprehensive Formulary to see the list of drugs covered by Zing Health plans. Simply select your state and desired Zing plan, and then select “Comprehensive Formulary”. Select “Pharmacy Directory” to see a list of pharmacies in your area where you can use a Zing Health Medicare plan to fill your subscriptions.

5
Zing Health Medicare Plan Ratings

Every year, Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) uses the star ratings to evaluate Medicare health plans according to various quality measures.

Because Zing Health Medicare plans are new in 2021, the carrier’s plans do not have any current star ratings. Zing’s first star ratings will be awarded in the fall of 2021 for the 2022 plan year.

6
Zing Health Medicare Plan Eligibility and Enrollment

To join a Zing Health Medicare Advantage plan, you must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B, and you need to live in the service area of the plan you wish to join.

There are three times at which you may enroll in a Zing Health Medicare plan.

  • During your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP). This enrollment period begins 3 months before you turn 65 years old, includes the month of your birthday and continues for 3 more months after that, for a total of 7 months.

  • During the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). This period – also called the fall Medicare Open Enrollment Period – lasts from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7 each year.

  • During a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). These periods may be granted at any time throughout the year to beneficiaries who experience a loss of coverage, those who move to new locations where their current plan is not offered and for other circumstances. Since these Special Enrollment Periods are based on your unique circumstances, you should speak with a licensed insurance agent to find out if you qualify.

To enroll in a Zing Health Medicare plan, print and complete a Zing Health Medicare enrollment request form and return it to the address or fax number provided.
